Independent publisher Mezcalita Press is based in Wimberly, Texas and they focus on publishing written works by writers and artists in the music world. The client requested a look that united the agave plants of the Texas Hill County with books.

Published by Mezcalita Press, Ladder to the Light is the winner of the 2019 Oregon Book Awards Readers’ Choice Award and was chosen as a finalist for the 2019 Oregon Book Awards – Stafford/Hall Prize for Poetry.
Designed for World Literature Today magazine’s 90th year of continuous publication. My concept centered on conveying modernity while also referencing the rich history of the magazine.
My illustration for the cover of the September 2011 issue of World Literature Today started from a doodle of a man walking with book stilts. The cover feature, “Poetry Untethered,” ended up with this final iteration of a person sitting and reading in the clouds.
I built this website for photographer Yousef Khanfar, who was promoting his Invisible Eve photography series that documents the lives of incarcerated women in Oklahoma.
